Letters: Election, Trump, COVID, protests

Political talk

Re: “We might lose the election (This is why)” by Joey Garcia (Ask Joey, Oct. 6);

Trump supports the Klu Klux Klan—this is 100% fake news so maybe you should inform yourself before sharing your ill-informed “facts” with others.

I will let you in on a secret: Only the loonies on the left would ever end a friendship over the support of a political party. So when you call your friend three times with your fake news like above, you didn’t change their mind. They are just sick of listening to your lies so they told you they supported Hillary so you would drop it.

White nationalism

Trump does indeed appear to support white nationalists such as the Klan, the Proud Boys, Boogaloo and many others. Note in 2016 David Duke, the wizard of Klandom, endorsed Trump. Head of the FBI recently said the white nationalists are the real problem, not BLM.

No response

Re: “A new voice for North Sacramento?” by Graham Womack (News, Oct. 6):

So [Allen] Warren “didn’t respond” to your multiple requests for interviews? Funny, his constituents have the same problem with him. I guess he is too busy stuffing innumerable pot parlors down the throats of our beleaguered business district.

A crutch for leftists

Re: “Proud Boys” by Clay Jones (Editorial cartoon, Sept. 30):

Racist: What the left calls anybody who doesn’t agree with them, what they don’t understand, what they don’t like and with whom that are losing an argument.

Don’t panic

Re: “Right before our eyes” by Foon Rhee (Editor’s note, Sept. 28):

Or maybe he’s trying to distract the country from dismal poll and virus numbers by keeping we liberals all in a panicked tizzy.

COVID reopening

Re: “How fast to reopen during COVID-19?” by Foon Rhee (News, Oct. 6):

Going too fast just sends us backwards. Some things must be done right.

Protest questions

What’s with all the nighttime protesting?

It has been a general principle that you want to be seen, want to be heard and are not afraid to be identified as supporting the cause. Courage is letting the world see who you are, and what you stand for.

Now, suddenly, we’re hiding in the shadows? Hiding behind umbrellas? Attacking journalists? This makes no sense. Do we have to wait until everyone’s off work? There’s something squirrelly about this trend toward nighttime protesting, even if violence is not the intent. If violence is the intent, please choose your targets with great care. Busting up the business of someone who is pretty much like yourself is pretty much an inordinately dumb thing to do.

Better than tofu

Re: “Planet V review: Pumfu, a tofu alternative” by Lindsay Oxford (Dish, May 27):

I personally loved this product. Lightly fried in avocado oil and then tossed with a kale pesto. Delicious, much better than tofu and without the soy issue.

  1. @John Brady – Trump has been 100% consistent condemning white nationalist groups. Even for the ‘very fine people speech’, the Left likes to leave out this line:

“It’s fine, you’re changing history, you’re changing culture, and you had people – and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally – but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists, okay?”

You see the CONDEMNED TOTALLY? Have you been lied to about this omission in the past by the MSM?

“Note in 2016 David Duke, the wizard of Klandom, endorsed Trump.”

And Trump totally denounced him as well (from CNN): https://edition.cnn.com/2016/03/03/politics/donald-trump-disavows-david-duke-kkk/index.html

I think your problem is that you get your news only from one side of the political spectrum so you miss out on half the story or more. It makes you easy prey for the propagandists in the MSM so I recommend that you don’t let them spoon-feed you news, seek it out yourself and try to get both sides of the story as very rarely is there ever true black and white in this world.
