Numerous Sierra foothills homes, recreation areas and wineries are now threatened

After wreaking devastation on the El Dorado County community of Grizzly Flats, the Caldor Fire continues to grow and spread, triggering mass evacuations from the town of Pollock Pines, as well as homes and cabins all along the popular Sly Park Recreation Area. Dozens of wineries in El Dorado and Amador counties have also been evacuated, particularly near the areas of Fairplay and Fiddletown. As of Thursday morning, the Caldor Fire had burned more than 65,000 acres and authorities had zero containment of it.
