Gathering in person isn’t allowed, so celebrate
4/20 online with yoga, trivia and DIY segments

Rolling paper origami, a lip sync battle, cooking demos and workouts are just a few activities planned for today’s 4/20 Virtual Variety Show with Friends organized by MonthLeaf and The MariJayne Maven.

“It’s all about celebrating the community, bringing the community together even though we cannot physically be together,” said Bryanne Vincent, CEO of MonthLeaf and DayLeaf, two local subscription cannabis services.

Katy Karns of SYoga will kick off the party at 11 a.m. with light yoga—and it’s bring your own weed throughout the day. Interested in joining the festivities? Visit its event page here to RSVP, or follow along at your leisure by streaming through MonthLeaf’s Facebook or Instagram.

“People can come in, they can come out. The whole idea is join when you’re ready, join when you have a free moment, join with whatever you’re interested,” Vincent said. “Feel free to leave, take some breaks. We just want to provide entertainment, something for people to do and to look forward to during this time.”

Each segment will be hosted by a variety of people within the cannabis community, including Mayra Concepcion, a community synergist with Realize CBD. Concepcion will answer questions about CBD while demonstrating a few ways it can be infused into drinks and edibles.

“You can make anything into an edible now, and I really want to show how easy it is to incorporate CBD into your everyday life,” Concepcion said. “Especially in this stressful time, maybe people crave a little more level-headed wellness.”

One host who will appear throughout the day to keep the party going is the MariJayne Maven, a community educator and advocate who also hosts the podcast Menage with the MariJayne Maven. She encourages viewers to participate in the lip sync battle while wearing homemade costumes.

“I’m super excited about everything. I’ll be dropping in between each segment and doing some education and answering some questions,” she said. “Gather everyone in your house, get your outfits or costumes together and let’s give some people something to do during this corona-cation.”
