Local artist and musician Ground Chuck broke his hip. Time to step up, Sacramento!

A photo I took of Ground Chuck, chilling with dogs on N Street, in 2012.

Local musician and artist Ground Chuck, as he’s known, has been a good friend and great neighbor for years. Won’t ever forget how he was there for me when my dog Leroy passed away years ago. He chalked this mural out front of my apartment the morning after he passed:

Damn … I get heavy-hearted just looking at this picture. What a dude, that Chuck!

Anyway, the bad news is that Ground Chuck broke his hip at a concert recently. At least that’s the talk online; I don’t know where GC lives now, and have failed to get in touch with him.

There’s a benefit show, next month at a private home (if you know, you know). The door from that gig will go to GC.

Individuals who want to help Chuck out can also make a PayPal donation to Danny Secretion (DannySecretion@gmail.com, put “Ground Chuck” in the notation).

The upside news is that, according to posts on FB, Chuck likely has some kind of health insurance, likely Medi-Cal, and is going to be covered. But the guy will of course appreciate the hand up.

So, step up, Sacto!
