High Sierra Music Festival announces lineup: String Cheese Incident, Joe Russo's Almost Dead, Galactic

High Sierra released some of its 25th annual festival lineup today. The four-day affair takes places up in beautiful, forested Quincy every Fourth of July weekend and is beloved for its feel-good jams and hippie vibe.

So beloved that bands tend to come back again and again. This summer, the String Cheese Incident returns for the first time since 1996 for four sets over two nights. From the press release:

The band’s members and long time fans see these performances at the festival from 1996 to 1999 as what propelled them on the West Coast and around the world. From their epic late night tent sets to the infamous “pool parties,” String Cheese Incident certainly made their indelible mark on the psyche of High Sierra fans.

Pool parties, eh?

Lots of other returners on the list, including Galactic, ALO, Nahko Medicine for the People, California Honeydrops, Barr Brothers, Pimps of Joytime and the list goes on and on.

This is likely only a third of the total lineup, so if nothing grabs you, don’t fret. After all, last year’s lineup saw an impressive number of up-and-coming indie rock bands and electronic dance music acts—genres absent so far.

But if you are already sold, you might as well buy a highly-discounted early bird pass at $210.50 here.
