Another viral cover of 'Alphabet Aerobics'

Apparently, 2014 is the year of people rapping “Alphabet Aerobics” and going viral. In case you missed it, here’s video of Harry Potter himself rapping it on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon back in October—with the Roots providing a slick backing track and Fallon doing some sort of Bob Dylan “Subterranean Homesick Blues” thing in the background:

Now, Texas television news reader Kim Powell is going viral with her version of the Blackalicious banger, which she apparently uses to warm up before a live shot (I’m just going to speculate wildly here that the first time she’d ever heard of Blackalicious was via Daniel Radcliffe on Fallon).

Unfortunately, whoever posted this video felt the need to add a way-out-of-sync beat. And it has the dry delivery you’d expect from a news anchor.

Thankfully, there’s also a sweet video on YouTube of the Sactown-bred hip-hop group showing us all how it’s supposed to be done. Even better news: 2015 will be the year that Blackalicious puts out a new album, Emoni, in March.
