Pizza Guys announces Sriracha Pizza and 'sriracha-themed challenges'

I’ve loved sriracha for a long time (the Huy Fong Foods, Inc. version in particular). And I’ve loved pizza for a quite a while, too. So it was kind of exciting when Pizza Guys announced yesterday in a press release that they created something called Sriracha Pizza. That’s right, the national-ish chain headquartered in Rancho Cordova has released a thin-crust pizza with garlic sauce, mozzarella, red onion, canadian bacon, jalapeños, pineapple and a sriracha-sauce glaze.

I haven’t tried it yet, but a quick peek at the Pizza Guys website reveals that a large Sriracha Pizza costs $15.99, and that the Guys are also serving something called Sriracha Wings for a limited time.

But that’s not all. The Pizza Guys Facebook page also announced “sriracha-themed challenges” a few days ago:

Wanted: #Sriracha Fans! We are looking for a few fans to come to our Rancho Cordova office next Thursday(8/28) AM and compete at our Sriracha themed challenges. Nothing but fun and games(and food)- did we mention you will be on Good Day Sacramento?! Message us or comment if you’d like to participate!

Yesterday, Pizza Guys updated that with another Facebook post saying they’d “messaged a few random fans who were interested- if those fans do not reply by Wednesday- we will do another round of messaging.”

So, there it is: There’s still possibly room to participate in some hot-sauce fun at the Pizza Guys’ headquarters. Challenge accepted, SN&R readers?
