ZuhG is a Sacramento band. And a few years ago, it opened a store in the Sacramento Downtown Plaza, which closed earlier this year. Now it’s promoting concerts as “ZuhG Life Presents” and running music festivals such as this weekend’s ZuhGfest in the Sierra foothills. The festival features three full days of music by more than 25 bands, including Jelly Bread (from Reno), the Pine Street Ramblers (from Nevada City) and, of course, ZuhG (from Sacramento). Tickets are $20 per day, or $40 for the whole weekend; find out more at www.zuhgfest.com.
Also, ZuhG Life Presents hosts a Sammies showcase for artists nominated in the folk category on Thursday, October 24 at Harlow’s Restaurant & Nightclub, 2708 J Street. Performances will include Honyock, Xochiltl, Awkward Lemon and Brianna Lea Pruett, whose latest album Gyspsy Bells is receiving great reviews from national press. Tickets cost $8. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m.
