ENLIGHTENMENT: Ballots, beer and discussing Election 2024 at Ruhstaller’s on Oct. 2

Know how you’re going to vote? If the answer is ‘no,’ bring your ballot and join California Groundbreakers for beers at Ruhstaller’s Downtown Sacramento during an Election 2024 discussion.

This free talk will feature two election experts – a pollster and a political reporter – who offer details about the candidates running for national, state and local offices, as well as clear up confusion about this year’s bunch of ballot initiatives.

The evening, which will be held in a speakeasy-type environment, aims to make voting easier – and fun.

The night’s guests on the sofa will be Rich Ehisen, editor of Capitol Weekly, and Paul Mitchell, vice president of Political Data Inc. and owner of Redistricting Partners.

No worries if attendees don’t have their ballot: Just bring a pen and paper and the host will provide some sample ballots for jotting down notes. Ruhstaller BSMT has a variety of beers on tap, as well as kombucha, wine and sparkling water. Light snacks will be available, but please feel free to BYO food.

ENLIGHTENMENT is a European salon-style event that holds informal cocktail conversations in Ruhstaller’s basement taproom. Its get-togethers highlight local personalities involved in interesting endeavors, along with experts knowledgeable about local, state, national or global issues. The idea is to bring the community together for dialogs over drinks in a relaxing environment. For more info, visit californiagroundbreakers.org
