A new Midtown Farmers Market debuts Saturday, March 7. It’ll be amplified by Unseen Heroes, known for putting on hip, aesthetically-pleasing community events like GOOD: street food + design market on Del Paso Boulevard and Gather in Oak Park. 

The location won’t budge from its tree-lined space on 20th Street between J and K. And of course, locally-grown fruits and veggies will remain, as will specialty products from regional businesses, chef demos and music. But it’ll soon also reflect “the unique and fun midtown vibe,” according to Emily Baime Michaels of the Midtown Business Association in a press release. More details from the press release:

A few of the refinements to the Midtown Farmers Market include the following: an even greater focus on local farmer-related edibles; a new vendor layout for better flow designed to encourage a “strolling” atmosphere; more involvement by and engagement with midtown businesses; a “Budding Foodies” kids activity area with food-related arts and crafts and other hands-on activities. Additionally, plans are underway to develop an ongoing partnership with the California Literacy Center to find inventive and inspired ways to motivate kids to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.

With the transition, the market will be on hiatus Saturday, February 28. Plan your shopping accordingly, though if you’re a regular, you’ll know the market has been a little lackluster the past month or two. Who else has been at an utter loss about where to buy eggs?
