Anyone in love with Yang’s Noodles’ chewy dumplings or earthy beef noodle soup has probably been in agony the past couple months. Right after a glowing Sacramento Bee review, the Stockton Boulevard restaurant was sold. And the new owner, eager for new customers from said review, wanted to clean the place up.
Queue new windows, new lighting, new orchids, new paint and some heavy, literal cleaning. The place looks great. Almost modern, even. New customers who aren’t accustomed to Stockton Boulevard aren’t likely to complain about the interior.
And long-time customers shouldn’t notice a change in culinary excellence either. The old owner (the Yang) is still head chef and the whole staff has stayed in place. I sampled the popular beef noodle soup and sliced beef rolls—the “Chinese burrito” with lots of cilantro and scallions—and they were just as excellent as ever.
