Most of us have been there: It’s late, you’ve been drinking and all you want is some disgustingly greasy fast “food” to sop up the alcohol and induce a food coma.

According to Sacramento Police Department logs, one 22-year-old man took this tried-and-true (and dumb) practice to the next level Sunday morning in north Sacramento.

Around 6 a.m., police indicate, a motorist pulled into the drive-through lane of a fast food restaurant on the 3500 block of Truxel Road, put in his order and then proceeded to fall asleep behind the wheel. (An In-N-Out Burger and a Del Taco are within closest proximity to the scene.) A restaurant employee rousted the drowsy driver, who steered his car to the parking lot, engaged his parking brake and fell asleep again.

Well, someone called 911 and officers responded to the scene, where they found a running vehicle and a snoozing Freddy Oleagaspar, whom they arrested for driving under the influence.

Oleagaspar was released from county jail later that same day. As of Tuesday, no DUI charges had yet been filed against him in Sacramento Superior Court.

No word on whether he took his order “animal-style.”
