After the raucous party that took place Friday night, on Day 3 of Aftershock, Discovery Park felt like a post-apocalyptic city. Dust in the air, black denim vests faded by the sun, and thousands of fans running on energy drinks, adrenaline and pure devotion scattered themselves amongst the festival’s four stages. A strong lineup followed on the previous night’s and kept the festival momentum unrelenting. Early bands drawing big crowds included Memphis May Fire, Saliva, Kittie, and Bilmuri. The Midday standouts were Slaughter To Prevail, Trivium, Chevelle, and Trash Talk. By early evening, Saturday’s big guns began to appear. Fans flooded the Shockwave stage to watch Three Days Grace. Then, Gojira lit up the festival sky with enormous pyrotechnics. Finally, Korn showed once again why they’ve been invited back so often to headline by drawing one of the largest crowds the Aftershock stage has ever seen.
