Tycho, led by Sacramento native Scott Hansen, brought the first stop of the “Wish You Were Here” tour to Channel 24, Sacramento’s newest midsize venue, on Friday, April 25.

Tycho performed on the second night of the venue’s opening weekend with support from Poolside (who performed a DJ set) and Sacramento electronic music duo Kris & Dusty.

Channel 24 is a 2,150-capacity venue founded by independent concert promoter Another Planet Entertainment (APE). APE is the largest independent promoter in the United States, according to a recent news release. APE also operates Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Fox Theater in Oakland, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in Sacramento, among several other venues in Northern California.

“After the 2024 Sacramento Music Census revealed the area was in need of more live music performance venues, APE set out to create a specially sized venue for Sacramento to fill the need in the market between small club shows and grand-scale arenas,” according to the release.

Channel 24 opened on April 24 with country singer-songwriter Tucker Wetmore. Its next show will feature Wallows onMay 1 and May 2, with opening act Rosemother.
