In a truly great economy, everyone — individuals, families, businesses and industries — benefit together from growth. Given that, there’s a grass-roots effort underway to envision and build a new economy that works for all in the Capital area community.

How can it happen?

Solving Sacramento’s next “Suds and Solutions” free event for the public will explore We Prosper Together, a new initiative of 150-plus organizations across eight counties in the greater Capital Region dedicated to economic inclusivity. The organization is pushing for livable-wage jobs and diverse investments into the area’s business apparatus.

The evening’s discussion will include the state of the local economy, including how it can take advantage of its assets and address challenges and disparities. There will also be a conversation about two new research reports: We Prosper Together’s Capital Region Economic Assessment, and Valley Vision’s Inclusive Economy Poll of local residents’ experiences and perspectives.

The speakers for the event are Dawnté Early, president and CEO of United Way Capital Region; Evan Schmidt, CEO of Valley Vision; Pat Fong Kushida, president and CEO of the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce. The moderator for the night will be Emily Hamann of The Sacramento Business Journal.

This round of ‘Suds & Solutions’ is being held May 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Track 7 Brewing in Curtis Park. There’s no charge to attend, plus we’re giving away $100 worth of free drinks on a first-come basis, so be sure to arrive early. Register for the event here. Track 7 Brewing is located at 3747 West Pacific Avenue #F in Sacramento.
