Maybe you’re a fan of the semiregular pop-up series Freaks of the Industry. Maybe you fondly remember pastry chef Edward Martinez’s magical endings at Enotria. Maybe you have no idea who Martinez is, but you love Sacto’s chef community. Or maybe that doesn’t even apply, but you like to eat and drink. Read on.

Sacramento chefs are rallying behind expat Martinez, whose brother recently passed away. They are throwing a fundraising event for Martinez’s family to pay for the funeral at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23 at LowBrau. Tickets cost $45, and with the exception of service fees, every dollar will go to Martinez.

What do you get? Well, 13 of the city’s most talented chefs will provide canapes and LowBrau’s bar will be open. So, a lot. It’s seriously an all-star lineup, featuring those from the likes of Kru, Hawk’s, Ella Dining Room & Bar, the Waterboy, Mother/Empress Tavern and Puur Chocolat. For tickets and more info, click here.
