Delta Workshop is going out of business

A bummer for the local creative community: Delta Workshop is closing its doors at the end of the month.

Bridget Lewis opened the place in 2013, offering a mix of crafty classes, art exhibits and handmade retail. Now at the end of Lewis’ three-year lease, she has opted to not renew it.

“It was a tough decision but the shop just wasn’t supporting itself,” she said.

But the end of the Delta Workshop at 2598 21st Street does not mean the end of Delta Workshop. Lewis plans to take the show on the road, sort of. She’s envisioning a nomadic Delta Workshop, with pop-up classes and potentially exhibits in other spaces around town. In the meantime, there is one last class scheduled for January 30: the Print & Stitch Maker Crawl. You’ll start out learning how to screen print at Delta Workshop, then you’ll head over to Sewn Stitch Studio to learn to how to sew your work into a tote bag. Not to mention that Delta Workshop’s closing sale is going on right now, too.
