First there was Ella’s $26 burger. It seemed outrageous at the time, and now, completely reasonable thanks to Grange’s $50 burger.
Available only tonight through Sunday, this extravagant and decadent offering features generous truffle shavings, fat slices of seared foie gras, braised oxtail and a side of truffle fries. Chef Oliver Ridgeway shared the above photo on Instagram last night of the finished product.
For comparison, Ella’s $26 burger contained truffled short rib ragu, marrow butter and Mt. Tam triple creme brie. No foie gras, and no full-blown truffle shavings, and yet, it was already extraordinarily rich. I tasted one bite and could not imagine finishing a whole burger. I can’t imagine eating this $50 burger. I don’t even know what to say. I. Just. Can’t.
