Sacramento Has Talent competition show returns Thursday

Access Sacramento’s big talent show is back Thursday, April 2 at the Crest Theatre, featuring a dozen of the city’s most impressive performers competing in front of a panel of judges. Cash, prizes, bragging rights, etc.

Two Sammies winners are on the bill: violinist Joe Kye, who won Artist of the Year and Outstanding New Artist, and New Orleans-style Element Brass Band, which took home the Jazz award.

Also on the bill: comedian Jason Anderson, who is notably making an appearance on HBO’s Silicon Valley; poet Salvin Chahal, who is also one part of hip-hop duo Native Children; aerial artist Jenna Elkington; and bellydancer Malalo Ryan.

Judges include Michael Hargis (LowBrau, TBD Fest). Alexandra Cunningham (Sacramento Ballet) and Shelly Willis (Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission). Ahmed Hassan, host of HGTV’s Landscape Smart, will emcee the evening.

It all goes down at 7 p.m. at the Crest, with a rally starting at Cesar Chavez Plaza hosted by the UC Davis marching band. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased here.
