James Cavern & The Council plays its last show on New Year's Eve

James Cavern & The Council is already breaking up.

Pretty huge bummer for anyone who has seen Cavern’s short-lived, indie soul band, but members have decided to work on new projects, he said.

The band plays its last show on New Year’s Eve at Pour House, which makes the free party even more enticing. The Pressure Lounge and Spirit of Saint Louis also perform.

This definitely doesn’t mean Sacramento will stop seeing the The Council guys playing around town in some capacity. And Cavern himself will continue his solo work. There are no plans, however, for a post-mortem record release though. The band never actually produced an album. But, perhaps, maybe, they’ll throw together some live in-studio recording for fans one day, Cavern said. Maybe.
