Sacramento coffee lovers get their own Caffeine Crawl

Coffee geeks just don’t have the same options as wine and beer aficionados.

Roasteries rarely offer tours and tastings like wineries and breweries. And when was the last time you were invited to taste the house roast before committing to it? That’s where Caffeine Crawl comes in. The one-day event is organizing several routes through Sacramento’s best cafes for private tastings, educational talks and plenty of swag.

On Sept. 6, attendees will follow one of six designated routes—some by car, some by bike—starting at Insight Coffee Roasters, Old Soul Co. or Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters. Then they’ll head out to other shops, including Pachamama Coffee, Shine, Fluid Coffee Bar and Son of A Bean Coffee House. The day will wind down with an after party at Temple Coffee, which may or may not feature other craft beverages.

From the organizers:

Sacramento’s coffee scene has been getting a lot of pressd lately, but it’s been on our radar for a while. The scene is quality-driven, full of business-like and passionate coffee roasters.

Feeling buzzed yet?

Caffeine Crawl started out in Kansas City in 2011, but it quickly spread to other coffee hotspots like Indianapolis, Oklahoma City, Denver, Boston, Vancouver, San Diego, Houston and more. Tickets cost between $25 and $32, depending on the route’s stops. Each route has six, and one has already sold out. Grab ‘em here.
