Here's a heart-filled map of UC Davis, and how Sacramentans can't find love

So we all hate Valentine’s Day, right? Right.

But some things are just too sweet to avoid, like this map of love stories that started on the UC Davis campus.

Disclaimer: I graduated from UC Davis and I have no such story on here, but my sister and her husband did meet at the university. So perhaps I’m biased.

My personal favorite comes from a Mr. Larry Tom:

“It was 1972. I was the president of the University Chorus and Kathy was a new soprano. She decided that she wanted to meet me but was unsure how. Her opportunity came about a week later when she rode up to Mrak Hall and saw me walking on the sidewalk. How did she make me notice her? SHE RODE HER BIKE RIGHT INTO ME! After I recovered from my shock we started talking …

** This year we will celebrate our FORTIETH anniversary!”

On a related note, yesterday’s Wall Street Journal included an article about the best and worst cities for singles looking for love, according to Facebook. Congratulations to Sacramento for making the top 50 list of cities for not coupling up. (Ahead of Austin and Portland at No. 21, heyo!) Perhaps not enough people are taking advantage of our epic singles mixers?
