On RZA, Trayvon Martin and folk music

Last Thursday, RZA (yes, of Wu-Tang Clan) posted this music video, ‘The Ballad of Trayvon Martin’ by The Last Internationale, on his Facebook timeline asking his followers, “what do you peeps in cyber space think about this song?”

The responses in the comment section were as varied as Wu-Tang’s following (and they’re probably worth a read), but what’s most compelling to me is RZA’s decision to post the video.

I haven’t commented at all on the George Zimmerman case, nor do I plan to. I get far too worked up thinking about it. But I’m certainly interested in hearing SN&R’s readers’ opinions on this video.

So what do you think about it, peeps in cyber space?
