Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance announced its 2014 Elly nominees at a party last night at the West Sacramento Community Center. The annual Elly Award celebrates “excellence and the outstanding achievements of community theaters and artists in the greater Sacramento area,” according to a SARTA press release. The award was created 32 years ago, is named after notable arts patron (and theater lover) Eleanor McClatchy and is open to all community theater groups within 70 miles of Sacramento.

In total, 58 theaters and 124 productions were nominated, with big winners including Sutter Street Theater (38 nominations), Roseville Theatre Arts Academy (30), Rocklin Community Theatre (22), The Acting Company (21) and Big Idea Theatre (17).
