Two music venues announce their end on Tuesday

By Anthony Siino

Sacramento’s underground music scene suffered two massive losses Tuesday in the announcements of Starlite Lounge’s closure and the end of live music events at Naked Lounge.

Starlite, known to many as the city’s best venue for extreme music, primarily metal, is closing after its last show on Sunday, June 25. The venue’s remaining shows can be found here.

Naked Lounge, a cafe that’s long served as a home for all-ages music of many stripes, is no longer able to host shows, according to a post from the operators of the High Anxiety Variety Show, a monthly event at the cafe. That announcement, along with info about the final show at the cafe, can be found here.
