Joanna Newsom's new tour includes Sacramento stop

Nevada City native Joanna Newsom has announced her latest tour and it includes a stop in Sacramento on Tuesday, April 5.

The date isn’t included on Drag City’s (Newsom’s label) official itinerary yet, but expect it to be added soon.

Newsom, of course, is the neo-folk indie musician known for her lilting, ethereal vocals and lovely harp prowess. Her most recent record, 2015's Divers, received critical acclaim–hell, crusty Pitchfork even gave it an 8.5, remarking that “most artists on their fourth album settle into atrophy … Newsom delivers such complex, nuanced music, filled with arcane constructions, that she is her only yardstick.”

She was also featured on the “The Muppet Show Theme” for the 2011 classic The Muppets. And she’s married to comedian/actor Andy Samberg, but that’s really neither here nor there.

Anyway, here are the show details: It’s set to place at the Crest Theatre (1013 K Street) with a 7:30 p.m. start time. Fleet Foxes singer-songwriter Robin Pecknold will open the night.

Tickets, which are $35 and $45, will be available via a pre-sale at 10 a.m. on  Tuesday, February 23 at www.sblentertainment.com. You’ll need a code: SBL. You’re welcome.

General public tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 26.

You can also get tickets via 877-987-6487 or through the Crest box office.
