What a night, right?
Ace of Spades was packed last night for the 2015 Sacramento Area Music Awards, a.k.a. the Sammies. Twelve nominated bands played on the big stage—plus some delightful, surprise collaborations—while presenters as varied as the FC Republic, Autumn Sky and Unseen Heroes gave out the honors.
Violinist Joseph in the Well took home the big Artist of the Year award, as well as Outstanding New Artist. Stevie Nader notably took home Outstanding Singer-Songwriter and Release of the Year, for the second year in a row in both categories. We also saw a lot of first-time winners, such as Humble Wolf, DJ Zephyr and Element Brass Band, as well as three-time winners who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame next year, including Ira Skinner, White Minorities and Dog Party.
