The 23rd annual Sacramento Area Music Awards, a.k.a the Sammies, isn’t just a ballot and list of awards. It’s a show—a party!—dedicated to the local music scene.

It takes place Thursday, March 26 at Ace of Spades (1417 R Street). Doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets cost $10—unless you snatch up these $2.50 early-bird tickets before March 2. Only $2.50 to see 15 of Sacramento’s greatest artists, plus good community vibes? A steal, I tell you!
The lineup of Sammie-nominated artists, all in different categories, in alphabetical order: Bellygunner (Pop-Rock), Century Got Bars (Emcee), Chris Gardner Band (Country), Cove (Indie), Element Brass Band (Jazz), James Cavern (R&B/Soul), Joseph In The Well (Artist Of The Year), Kyle Rowland Band (Blues), Lite Brite (Rock), Massive Delicious (Reggae/Jam), Musical Charis (Hall of Fame), Shoujo Kitten (New Act), Stevie Nader (Songwriter), the Westwards (Folk Rock), World Hood (World).
If you haven’t voted yet, do. Otherwise, listen to some of the acts below, and see you on March 26.
