TBD Fest launches New Year's Eve party with A-Trak, Oliver, Gigamesh

TBD Fest fans are in luck. There’s no need to wait a whole year for another indie dance-fueled marathon.

The team of Michael Hargis and Clay Nutting is at it again for New Year’s Eve. Expect an official announcement tomorrow for a block party on 20th Street. Think TBD Fest meets THIS Midtown, but on the biggest party night of the year.

The lineup? A-Trak, Oliver and Gigamesh.

“These are three really heavy hitters—A-Trak could be headlining just about anywhere in the world,” Nutting tells SN&R.

For the uninitiated, A-Trak is the owner of Fool’s Gold Records, a major indie innovator in hip-hop electronic dance music. Its roster includes Chromeo, Danny Brown, Duck Sauce and Run the Jewels.

Oliver is also on Fool’s Gold. The duo of Oliver “Oligee” Goldstein and Vaughn “U-Tern” Oliver is big on groovy R&B and funky electropop. That leaves Gigamesh, perhaps best known for producing Mike Posner’s hit “Cooler Than Me.”

More details—including ticket prices—will likely come with tomorrow’s announcement, so keep an eye on the TBD Fest Facebook page. In the mean time, enjoy some tunes and polish off those dancing shoes.
