Hot as Sac: Emergency cooling centers open this week across Sacramento

Some of us have central air. Others (like myself) blow up an air mattress and camp out next to the AC window unit. But many, for one reason or another, don’t have any feasible options for dealing with heat waves such as the one Sacramento is mired in this week. Thankfully, the city is providing those folks with some options.

If you need to get out of the heat this week during the day’s hottest hours, go down to any of the following facilities between now and Thursday, and they’ll take care of you:

Mims/HagginwoodCommunity Center: 3271 Marysville Blvd (Open: 2-9:00 p.m.)

Clunie Center: 601 Alhambra Blvd (Open: 2-8:00 p.m.)

Fruitridge Community Center: 4000 Fruitridge Rd (Open: 2-9:00 p.m.)

Pannell/Meadowview Community Center: 2450 Meadowview Rd (Open: 2-9:00 p.m.)

Stay as hydrated and cool as possible. And don’t forget to take care of each other.
