This Week: Martini, Sorci, Hack and Martinez at Thunder Valley Casino November 6th and 7th 2009!,
Join Us at Thunder Valley Casino starting at 9:00pm until 1:00am this Friday and Saturday The group is being featured this weekend at the Casino Stage at 1200 Athens Ave in Lincoln , California starting at 9:00pm. Be sure to stop by for a great party weekend. Jerry Martini (Member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Jerry Martini, aka Papa J is the original founder of Sly & the Family Stone; calling upon Sly Stone to become the leader of the first inter-racial, multi-gender major American Band. He has also performed with countless luminaries including Mike Bloomfield, Carlos Santana, Rolling Stone Bill Wymann, Robert Cray, Willie Lomax, Prince, Graham Central Station, and Van Morrison. He is avid in horn arrangements as well as song writing including "One With the Sun" on Santanas "Barbaletta album among others. Through the millenial New Years, he, along with Cynthia Robinson and Larry Graham, played with Prince on his 1999/2000 New Years Pay Per View special "Rave Un2 2000" capping "The Jam of the Year" tour taking them worldwide through Europe and The US to over 50 stops. More Recently he has been seen on the 2006 Grammy Awards with a cast of all stars in their tribute to Sly & The Family Stone. Frankie Sorci (Keyboard and Vocals) Frankie started playing piano at the age of four, had his first group at the age of 13 and started playing for monetary gain at the age of 15. Nightclubs were on the agenda at the age of 18 and with the help of a penciled in moustache he was able to gain entrance to most of the clubs in the Sacramento area. 20 was the age to hit the road. Frankie stayed on the road for the next 13 years doing what he loved, playing music. He started in the Nevada Circuit but graduated to playing every corner of the United States. Seattle to Santa Monica, Buffalo to Marco Beach, Toronto to Scottsdale working with groups of new , old and no fame, and it was all fun! When Music gets in your blood it will be there forever, and its good! Brian Hack on Guitar and Vocals A Sacramento based musician who spent years playing club venues as a lead guitarist & lead singer, after doing years of road gigs in California hotel chains and the Nevada Casino circuit, Brian and Frank formed their own group "Madison Avenue." Under the BMI affiliation, Brian completed five recording projects with former members. Brian attributes his music career to years of being influenced by Blues Guitarist and friend Mr. Robben Ford. Russ Martinez (Drums and Percussion) Russ started playing drums when his dad bought him a set of bongos at age seven after visiting Tijuana. To his parents dread, he never stopped. At fifteen his first band Reign opened the show at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento for Steppen Wolf and Three Dog Night, he was hooked. He played the club circuit in the Sacramento Valley from age 17 until he finally opened his own night club, The Bitter Creek Tavern in 1977. Bitter Creek was a musicians venue, large stage, lights and a house sound system designed to showcase some of the best bands in Northern California. In 1981 he started playing and touring with the Rutabaga Boogie Band. After he sold the club in 1985 he continued to play with the Rutabaga's until 2006. He's now re-energized and excited to be working with Jerry Martini and our current project. • Location: sacramento

The Rhythm Express is playing at Swabbies on the River in Sacramento on Saturday, November 14th at 8:00pm. Details can be had at http://www.TheRhythmExpress.com/.
The Rhythm Express Band is a true variety band that plays a little bit of everything. Whether your event is a wedding, party, mixer, or special occasion, or you operate a commercial establishment, our mission is to provide live music that is certain to entertain you and your guests with hits that span a variety of genres and eras. Whether you're young or not-so-young, our tune selection provides something for everyone. Our repertoire covers all genres of music from pop to dance to rock 'n' roll to country to soft rock, even sambas, and, if you like, we can even take you on a journey that starts today and includes stops in each decade back through time all the way to the 50's. We know that every event is special, so we tailor our song list accordingly. For example, if your goal is to get guests movin' and groovin', every song we play will be danceable and we'll provide the juice to get even your worst stick-in-the-mud guest off their butt and onto the dance floor! We can also perform lower energy material to serve as background entertainment for your dinner party, mixer or happy hour event. And, just as important as the music itself, we know that no one likes a band that's so loud you can't even think, let alone talk. Rest assured that we are professionals who pay special attention to volume. We assess the acoustics of your venue upfront so we know what to do to keep our sound under control at your particular venue. This way, you can have fun without worrying about having your ears blown off! We know that every band tells you a BS story about how great they are, and many drop a music clip that was recorded in a studio, but when it's show time, they sound nothing like the clip they gave you. So, we're not going to do any of that. If you want to check us out, we'll be at Swabbies on the River in Sacramento on Saturday, November 14th at 8:00pm. Details can be had at http://www.TheRhythmExpress.com/. Visit us at http://www.TheRhythmExpress.com • Location: Sacramento

The Sacramento Rescue & Restore Coalition has a continuously growing collection of artwork that has been donated by local artists. Coalition members are able to use the exhibit to reach out to communities where victims of trafficking may be found and to raise general awareness of modern day slavery. For that reason the artwork is not for sale, but instead has been incorporated into Coalition outreach materials and electronic media. Through the use of symbolism, realistic depictions, and the actual experiences of victims, artists have illustrated the devastation of human trafficking and the hope associated with the rescue and restoration of victims.
This coming January, Sacramento Rescue & Restore will have a series of events for National Human Trafficking Awareness Day and needs more art. Donating art is a great way for artists to add to their resume and gain visibility in the community. Art is also a powerful tool for change. If you would like to submit a work of art to be displayed at our January Second Saturday event in recognition of National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, please submit images of your work with your name and phone number to: outreach@stopslavery.net • Location: Sacramento
