As a Senior Memory System Architect for Non:Volatile Engineering (NVE) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will develop non:volatile memory systems solutions working with memory, controller, and product teams. The job entails understanding the latest NVM technology and developing system level solutions in software, firmware, and RTL (FPGA and ASIC). Activities include developing architecture specifications and algorithms and then working on a team to implement systems to validate and test the architecture and NVM media management.
The engineer should also have demonstrated contributing and/or driving problems solving exercises with small groups. Strong technical communication ability and problem solving skills are essential. This position requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally 20 days out of the year.
:Working knowledge of SATA, PCIe, NVMe, NAND, DRAM, RTL coding, embedded firmware, and software drivers.
:Experience in the architecting, designing, and building of Solid State Drives (SSDs).
:Architectural knowledge of the media management algorithms in SSD controllers and firmware.
:Experience debugging systems with PCIe 1/2/3 and SATA using Logic Analyzers, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers or other methods.
:Experience with the following hardware and software languages: Verilog/VHDL, C, and Python.
:Experience with analyzing SSD performance with industry standard tools such as IOMeter and FIO.
:Familiarity with memory architecture of NAND and RAM required.
:Knowledge of Phase Change Memory technology.
:Experience in embedded firmware development.
:Must be willing to work evenings or weekends, if necessary.
:Ability to travel domestically and internationally 20 days out of the year.
Degree Required: BS or equivalent foreign education
Academic Discipline(s): Computer Science or Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering
Accepted: Computer Science or Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering
Experience Required: Five years of progressive post:graduate experience
