Job Description:/h3:
Accounts Payable Specialist : Construction

Duties and Responsibilities:
Reconcile A/P detail to General Ledger and maintain organized A/P files.
Responsible for 1099 reporting.
Maintain open and paid Accounts Payable files.
Manage check runs to ensure timely payments and monitor discounts
Manage Home Depot, Lowes, and other high volume vendor accounts on a daily basis as well as Process monthly credit card statements.
Manage and Reconcile vendor retentions withheld and vendor statements.
Track all invoices, obtain approvals as needed, post invoices, schedule payments
Process subcontract invoices including license and insurance tracking, lien releases, joint checks, and payment of retentions
Track and log preliminary lien notices received and insure lien releases are obtained prior to payment
Reconcile open purchase orders.
Ensure proper approval, coding, and back:up for all invoices and credit card charges.
Prepare prepayment packet for final ECC divisional approval.
Prepare checks for Corporate signature.
Assist in other areas of accounting department.
Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

:High School Diploma or equivalent required.
:5+ years of experience in high volume Accounts Payable required.
:2+ years of experience in Construction organization desired.
:AA/AS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field desired.
:Mathematical and analytical acumen, understanding accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
:Strong organization and attention to detail.
:Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to think critically, innovatively and analyze data.
:Time management and deadline oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously working independently or within a team environment.
:Excellent customer service skills (internal and external) and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work collaboratively by establishing working relationships with other employees, vendors, etc.
:Must be able to maintain large volume of emails and respond in a concise and timely matter.
:Proficient at 10:key and Data entry.
:Intermediate Level MS Office, especially Outlook, Excel, Word and Access, using typical spreadsheet, file folder/database management and report writer tools.
:Prior experience with Construction Partner (CP) or other construction industry software programs preferred.
