Job title : Hospitalist PA (Acute Care Physician Assistant) Company: Capitol Internal Medicine Associates/Vibra Hospital We are looking for a confident, hard-working, efficient and organized full-time Acute Care Physician Assistant Hospitalist to work in Vibra Hospital in Folsom, CA. Vibra Hospital is a long-term acute care (LTAC) Hospital. It provides aggressive, specialized interdisciplinary care to medically complex patients who require extended recovery time. Examples of such patients are patients with complex wounds, decubitus ulcers, complex pneumonias, COPD, congestive heart failure, chronic mechanical ventilator dependent patients. This position requires patient admission, completing a thorough history and physical, entering orders, evaluation and management and follow-up treatment of patients till discharge. Perform functions under the medical supervision of a physician. Requires daily rounding on the patients and formulation of a daily management plan of care. The Hospitalist PA will be responsible for follow-up calls to the patient relatives and communication with the nurses on the floor. EDUCATION, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: MINIMUM REQUIRED: 1. Training and Experience: Successful completion of a graduate program for the education and preparation of Physician Assistants. Acute Care Hospital Experience preferred. 2. Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the Physician Assistant Board. Certification as a Physician Assistant by the Physician Assistant Board. Current BLS and ACLS Certification, current DEA certificate in CA license. 3. Keyboarding Skills. PREFERRED : 1. Minimum qualifications, and: 2. Previous experience in acute inpatient and outpatient services. 3. Working knowledge of electronic record in a healthcare setting. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work under the supervision of a physician. Hours 10 AM - 7 PM. Evaluation and management of in-patients from admission till discharge. Perform timely dictation of history and physical and Discharge Summaries. Document detailed daily SOAP progress notes in the EMR. Be available for any family questions, meetings and phone calls on the patients that one manages and participate in weekly IDT's. Average Daily Census-15-18 Additional Qualifications/Skills: Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a hospital or acute care setting preferred. Ability to project a professional image. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
