Dermveda is the first-of-its-kind integrative dermatology education platform with resources for both practitioners and the public. Dermvda’s LearnSkin and Integrative Skin Care Symposium provide continuing education for physicians and other skin care professionals.

We are looking for a coordinator with medical education experience to join our growing start-up. We are a fast-paced organization with online and in-person offerings, which requires the ability to manage multiple projects at any given time.

Headquartered in Sacramento, CA, we prefer our education team to work from our office, although open to telecommuting.



Manage event planning for a variety of meetings, conferences, webinars and workshops both in-person and online.

Develop and monitor budgets to ensure revenue and expenses are kept within established boundaries. Review financial information for accuracy, such as invoices for services and materials, and prepare financials for grant reporting and management.

Develop and maintain a sponsorship guide for online and in-person events.

Event Management

Work with appropriate individuals to develop and monitor timelines and deadlines related to all aspects of events, ensuring the information is communicated with staff, volunteers, contractors, presenters, and other constituents.

Work with LearnSkin content team to develop programs for events and activities, including speakers and topics to meet grant requirements and learning objectives.

Assist with program development for the Annual Integrative Skin Care Symposium.

Manage database and registration process, including on-site registrations, to assure accurate registration data, name badges (and ribbons), fee collection, counts for specific events, etc.

Manage and work with appropriate staff to evaluate all events, ensuring continual improvement and quality customer service. Utilize survey instruments to evaluate attendees and non-attendees, as appropriate, gathering and disseminating the results received.

Attend the event and provide on-site support. If online, monitor course satisfaction and provide customer service.

Provide any follow-up to the events such as thank you letters to speakers, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, etc., as needed. Ensure materials are sent to registered non-attendees and ensure committee meets to discuss event after the fact.

Responsible to pack and oversee shipping of materials needed for events and ensure their prompt arrival.

Responsible for ensuring all materials arrive back to the office after events and are properly disseminated to staff responsible for those items.

Ensure all logistical details of events including instructor materials, agreements, forms, and presentations are uploaded and processed.

Work with vendors/exhibitors/sponsors to ensure a positive experience, including signage, promotion, and registration.

Course Development

Oversee initiation, development, and implementation of online courses.

Collaborate with medical education accreditors to approve online continuing (medical) education courses for western and eastern medical disciplines, including allopathy, naturopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, and aesthetics.

Coordinate with the tech and marketing teams to build and release the courses and manage customer service, including enrollment, delivery of evaluations, and certificates.

Manage Dermveda partnerships to ensure appropriate course discounts are applied and new partnerships are developed with professional organizations, medical groups, and associations.

Communication and Promotions

Develop and monitor timelines/promotional schedule for events, working with marketing team to ensure adequate and proper promotion.

Manage the promotional aspects of events including, but not limited to the following:

Registration materials for events

Review and in some cases develop promotional materials prior to distribution, i.e. attendee brochure, on-site program, etc.

Write or secure articles for newsletters to promote the events held, both before and after the events

Provide information on the events to the marketing team for promotion on the website including details for registration, photographs (after events), listing of vendors, listing of attendees, etc.

Write copy for eblasts in accordance with promotional schedule developed

Write copy for social media vehicles to promote events, ensuring marketing team posts information provided

Visit website regularly to ensure event sections are up-to-date and current

Required Qualification and Experience

Minimum 3 years working experience.

Bachelor’s degree or CHCP preferred.

Direct work in online continuing medical education (CME). Experience with maintenance of certification (MOC), Accreditation Council for CME (ACCME), and AMA PRA standards and guidelines is preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate internally across the organization and with external stakeholders.

Highly organized, efficient, and detail oriented; strong analytical and critical thinking skills required.

Ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and achieve project deliverables with a track record of high quality and on-time completion.

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as to work independently as a self-motivated individual contributor.

Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Minimal travel required.
