The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Department of Radiology is actively recruiting two (2) full-time Diagnostic Pediatric Radiologist. Candidates must possess an MD or DO degree and be board certified in Diagnostic Radiology, fellowship trained in Pediatric Radiology, CAQ eligible, and qualified for licensure in the State of California. Expertise in all aspects of General Pediatric Radiology (excluding Neuroradiology) is required, and the successful candidate is expected to teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Research interest is preferred, but all candidates must participate in scholarly and creative activity. Clinical responsibilities include all areas of Pediatric Radiology (plain film, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and MRI). Clinical service coverage is divided between UC Davis Children's Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children. Daily and call coverage is divided equally among all faculty within the section. Most teaching is conducted during daily read outs with residents. The Pediatric Radiology faculty also share in the section's responsibility to deliver didactic and case based conferences to Radiology residents and medical students rotating in Radiology. Participation in multidisciplinary conferences is expected. The Department of Radiology performs approximately 400,000 examinations per year and has 40 full- time faculty, including four (4) Pediatric Radiologists. We currently have seven CT Scanners (including dual energy, 128-slice, and 64-slice scanners). MRI consists of six clinical GE 1.5T scanners, one clinical 3T magnet, and an open 0.7T scanner, the latter soon to be replaced by a wide bore magnet. There are additional 1.5 and 3T systems in the adjacent Imaging Research Center. Brand new adult and pediatric Philips Grid-Controlled Fluoroscopy units will be installed before the end of 2017. Ultrasound equipment and PET-CT are state-of-the art. UCDMC provides a fully-integrated electronic medical records system, fully digital Radiology Department, and active multidisciplinary collaboration with other departments. Sacramento is at the heart Northern California and is close to attractions like San Francisco, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, Monterey, and Yosemite. It is a culturally diverse city that is an ideal place to raise a family, with reasonably affordable housing and multiple parks and rivers as well as a 32-mile American River Bike Trail that provide endless outdoor activities and recreation. Known as the "City of Trees", Sacramento has been named one of the 10 Best Cities for Urban Forest. A newly built Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento is a yearlong venue for sports, concerts, and events. Sacramento is also being promoted as "America's Farm to Fork Capital" with a growing dining scene that can compete with larger cities across the US.
