For this role, we need someone with experience in architecture and design of backend web development, writing web applications using a test-driven deployment approach, and using relational and non-relational database systems. You should also be comfortable working in an agile and lean environment to routinely deploy changes. The current opening for this position requires on-site interactions with clients and users in Sacramento, California; therefore we are seeking candidates who reside in Sacramento or are willing to commute on a daily or weekly basis. We also like to see a track record of contributions to open community projects. For this position, at least 2 years of full-time experience as Lead Backend Web Developer are required. You must have aa total of 3 years full-time experience developing and deploying backend web applications in an agile environment. You must have at least 2 years full-time experience in EACH of the following: Developing web applications using Java Writing the back-ends of modern open-source web applications Developing and consuming web-based, RESTful APIs Writing web applications using a test-driven deployment approach Developing and executing automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests Relational and non-relational database systems Sound good so far? We're looking for someone with experience in the following: Backend web development using Java Develop product roadmaps, backlogs, and measurable success criteria, and writing user stories Authoring developer-friendly documentation (eg, API documentation, deployment operations) Developing and Consuming web-based, RESTful APIs with the Dropwizard Java framework Communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience Creating and executing automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests Using and working in team environments that use agile methodologies (eg, Scrum, Kanban, Lean) Use of version control systems, specifically Git and GitHub Quickly researching and learning new programming tools and techniques Writing and working with open source solutions and community Desired Skill Set Intense curiosity about people and human interactions Ability to appreciate and communicate with both introverts and extroverts Desire to become an extraordinary communicator by searching inside yourself Ability to see patterns and identify unstated needs Experience with GitHub, Pivotal Tracker, Slack Familiarity with Elasticsearch Experience with Apache CFX for serializing and deserializing Java Objects to and from SOAP based messages, while maintaining security with headers and tokens.
