Job Description POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborative and knowledgeable member of the Executive Team Supervise, train and mentor finance department staff Review and approval of accounting functions, internal financial statements (corporate and partnership), property and sales tax returns, and multi-state licensing and bonding requirements Review complex bank reconciliations of client accounts Manage investment accounts and cash flow Oversee fixed assets database and depreciation treatments Manage audits of financial statements and systems in coordination with staff and external auditors, including preparation and review of work papers Prepare tax accrual and deferred tax calculations; coordinate tax payments and return preparation with external tax professionals Maintain and renew business insurance policies Prepare and maintain annual budget and reporting Documentation of procedures, maintain proper internal controls and drive continuous process improvement Maintain professional relationships in an efficient and productive manner externally with auditors, bankers, legal counsel, clients, vendors and internally with all departments Contract review and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements Manage special projects Other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: California Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license BS in Business Administration/Accounting ; higher education preferred but not required Extensive experience in private industry with medium-sized companies Experience in TPA/Employee Benefit Plans/Health Insurance industry preferred but not required REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS: The ideal candidate is seeking a long-term career and will possess: Strong leadership and supervisory skills Superior written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal and organization skills Strategic thinker with creative and analytical approaches to problem solving who works collaboratively with others Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines Positive attitude, respectful and tactful team player, ability to mentor others and support their growth Professional attitude and appearance, ethical and confidential conduct and commitment to quality Strong technical competencies in accounting, budgeting and taxation Proficient with Microsoft 2016 and other computer programs Advanced Excel skills Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Management Reporter preferred but not required Experience with system conversions and upgrades Excellent ten-key and typing skills The position reports to the Senior Vice President of Finance. Position is full time Monday through Friday during normal office hours in Stockton, CA with minimal travel.
