Job Description:
The Accountant is essential to the corporate office operations. The accountant position is responsible for serving as a team leader in the finance department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This position creates financial transactions and creates financial reports from that information.
Responsibilities:
:Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
:Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
:Maintains historical records by filing documents.
:Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
:Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
:Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
:Accurate and reliable in handling accounts and documents.
:Managing Budgets and Job Costing
:Manage account balances to discover outstanding debts or other inconsistencies
:Issue invoices to customers through various channels (mail, e:mail etc.)
:Issue customer account statements periodically
:Send reminders for payments and contact customers when assigned
:Update accounting records with new payments, balances, customer information etc.
Educational, professional and/or other requirements:
:Bachelors Degree preferred but experience will be considered
:Must have QuickBooks Experience
:General accounting experience
:Proficient in the use of computers and related software such as MS Word, MS Excel, and QuickBooks
:Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
:Data Entry Skills
:Must be organized, detail:oriented, efficient, and highly analytical, with strong written and verbal communication skills
:3+ years of general accounting experience including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and general ledger
:Task oriented, attention to detail
:Self:starter, highly motivated and dependable
:Ability to innovate and improve operations and solve problems in a fast:paced environment
