Job DescriptionJob Description:The Accountant is essential to the corporate office operations. The accountant position is responsible for serving as a team leader in the finance department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This position creates financial transactions and creates financial reports from that information.Responsibilities:Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.Maintains historical records by filing documents.Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Accurate and reliable in handling accounts and documents.Managing Budgets and Job CostingManage account balances to discover outstanding debts or other inconsistenciesIssue invoices to customers through various channels (mail, e-mail etc.)Issue customer account statements periodicallySend reminders for payments and contact customers when assignedUpdate accounting records with new payments, balances, customer information etc.Educational, professional and/or other requirements:Bachelor's Degree preferred but experience will be consideredMust have QuickBooks ExperienceGeneral accounting experienceProficient in the use of computers and related software such as MS Word, MS Excel, and QuickBooksSolid understanding of US GAAPData Entry Skills Must be organized, detail-oriented, efficient, and highly analytical, with strong written and verbal communication skills3+ years of general accounting experience including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and general ledgerTask oriented, attention to detailSelf-starter, highly motivated and dependableAbility to innovate and improve operations and solve problems in a fast-paced environmentThrive in a team environmentConfidentialityThoroughnessBenefits for Full-Time Positions: Competitive Salary with benefitsCareer path opportunities for top performers Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
